Adaptive Feedforward Control of a Pressure Compensated Differential Cylinder

This paper presents the design, simulation and experimental verification of adaptive feedforward motion control for a hydraulic differential cylinder. The proposed solution is implemented on a hydraulic loader crane. Based on common adaptation methods, a typical electro-hydraulic motion control system has been extended with a novel adaptive feedforward controller that has two separate feedforward states, i.e, one for each direction of motion. Simulations show convergence of the feedforward states, as well as 23% reduction in root mean square (RMS) cylinder position error compared to a fixed gain feedforward controller. Robust adaptive tracking control of uncertain systems with time-varying input delays

ABSTRACTIn this paper, the problem of robust adaptive tracking control of uncertain systems with time-varying input delays is studied. Under some mild assumptions, a robust adaptive controller is designed by using adaptive backstepping technique such that the system is globally stable and the system output can track a given reference signal. At the same time, a root mean square type of bound is obtained for the tracking error as a function of design parameters and thus can be adjusted. Finally, one numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

Caracterización de las técnicas de nado a través del análisis de la aceleración 3D

El objetivo de este estudio era caracterizar la aceleración en el dominio temporal y frecuencial en los cuatro estilos de nado. La muestra estuvo compuesta por 75 sujetos (39 del género masculino y 36 del género femenino), que realizaron cuatro repeticiones de 25 metros a máxima velocidad una cada uno de los estilos. Se utilizó un acelerómetro tri-axial con una sensibilidad de 10g y una precisión de 1000Hz, situado en la zona lumbar del nadador. Time course of human 40 Hz EEG activity accompanying P3 responses in an auditory oddball paradigm

In order to quantify the time course of auditory P3-related gamma activity, root mean square (RMS) values were calculated from band-filtered (30-45 Hz) target and non-target responses in an auditory oddball experiment. Evoked (phase locked) gamma activity was evaluated from the time domain averages, whereas induced (not necessarily phase locked) activity was analyzed on the basis of single trials. Gamma RMS values were integrated across different time windows, namely the prestimulus, N50/P50, N100, pre P3, P3 and post P3 window. Neomuscular fatigue to power loading using a weight-stack device fitted with or without additional rubber band resistance

The addition of a rubber band (RB) to traditional weight-based resistance may be beneficial regarding the deceleration phase common during explosive power actions with light weights. Effect of innervation zones in estimating biceps brachii force-EMG relationship during isometric contraction

Measuring muscle forces in vivo is invasive and consequently indirect methods e.g., electromyography (EMG) are used in estimating muscular force production. The aim of the present paper was to examine what kind of effect the disruption of the physiological signal caused by the innervation zone has in predicting the force/torque output from surface EMG. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relation of transthoracic three- and two-dimensional echocardiographic left ventricular volumetry to cineventriculographic volumetry. Effect of electrode location on surface electromyography changes due to eccentric elbow flexor exercise.

Experiments were carried out to determine whether the location of electrodes has an effect on eccentric exercise–induced changes in surface electromyography (sEMG) variables in the biceps brachii muscle. sEMG signals were recorded with a grid of 64 electrodes before and up to 4 days post-exercise. Root mean square (RMS) and mean power frequency (MNF) were calculated for: (1) each channel; (2) as an average of all channels; and (3) as an average of individual channel rows and columns.
